BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Chilham Castle, Chilham

The sundial is set on a spiral fluted stone column to the east of the house. The dial furniture comprises; a 32-point compass, a wheatear border, Equation of Time watch faster/slower ring in two parts - months clockwise and numbered in 2mins (5mins shown for maxima) but divided to 1 min. EoT zeroes are shown on Aug 20, Dec 15 etc. The inner time ring shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15 10, 5 and 1 min marks. The Roman numerals use the form XII and IIII and are read from the outside. Inward fleurs de lys mark half hours. There is a sigmoidal gnomon with square shaped side suports. The dial has 3 hole fixing to the column.
