BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Thomas Twining House, Richmond

The house is opposite Eel Pie Island. The dial is mounted in the brick wall of the house in an arched moulded brick surround. Around the top of the white dial plate is: ’Redeeming / the / Time’, and towards the foot is ’1726 / Thomas Twining’. The hour numerals are gilded, VI - XII - IIII, and are divided to half and quarter hours, though with some irregularities. The gnomon springs from a smiling sun face with eight gilded rays and is a long slender rod with an ’S’ support, all gilded.
