BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Lancashire

The dial lies near the south porch and is mounted on a leaning square column, 850 mm high, held within an octagonal block, 216 mm high, on a circular base 76 mm high. The column is marked with the initials "IH" on the north side and "RB" on the west. The brass dial plate, 184 mm square, has been repaired at some stage by brazing. Its inscription, now hard to make out, is believed to be "Die Dies Traditur, John Hibblethwaite - Sculp". ("One day follows another"). The gnomon has an elaborately cut vertical edge.
