BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
This is a well preserved horizontal dial in the parish churchyard, dated 1791. It bears a beautifully pierced gnomon. The half hours are marked by triple dots.
The date is given as 1725 in Lancashire: Liverpool and the South-West by Richard Pollard and Niklaus Pevsner, 2006.
