BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Lancashire

The dial lies near the south door of the church; it was damaged in 1992 but has survived. It shows a latitude of 55 deg 50 min. The inscription is difficult to decipher, being reported as : "Duiii Tiioch Fugio" and ’"Walter Fecit". (The first word is probably ’Dum’ - ’Dum spectas fugio’ is common). The gnomon remains intact. The dial rests on a handsome carved stone pedestal 1370 mm high.
