BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Shropshire

Finely engraved dial. The eight compass points are identified though only the four cardinal ones are decorated. Curious apparent erasure of detail to South of gnomon. Four hole fixing. Split noon line. IIII used. Shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15 and 5 mins. Half hours marked by lozenges. Half & quarter hours marked inside chapters, half quarter and 5min marks outside. Set on (?older) circular section baluster type pedestal south of the tower, with chamfered square capital and mounted on ageing three step circular plinth 500h.
