BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
This excellent and well maintained dial is easily visible, sited facing sun and sea on the town’s long promenade. Its motto reads : " Time Flies". Words and numerals are in black on white with a black border. There is a central relief of the sun with a highly detailed smiling human face in gold. Radiant flames and hour lines are also in gold.
