BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Lancashire

The dial is currently (July 2010) kept in storage, after an attempt to steal it. The report R1815 from G Grimsley says ’Believed erected 1820 by Rev Peter Garrett’. Rev Jackson in his book ’Woodplumpton & its Families, Religion & Houses’ dates it, in a strange coincidence with its SRN, to 1637. More information requested.
