BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Shropshire

The dial, which is 180 degrees out of position, is situated South West of the porch. It was a quality dial, with maker’s name (sadly illegible) and EOT. Now good gnomon but very worn dialplate. Shows 4am to 8pm in 30 min marks (and probably 15, 10, 7.5, 5 and 2 or 1 min marks). Half hours marked by fleurs-de-lys. Split noon. IIII for 4am and pm. Gnomon 10mm thick cast integrally with its own lower edge support. Mounted on stone baluster pedestal 1310h with three step plinth.
