BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Fife

High on the southern end of the 1712 part of the house. The date 1722 is present in Arabic numerals at the top of the dial. Upright Arabic hour numerals, including 5am and 7pm above the horizontal. Hour lines to a small full circle, and no subdivisions. About 1980 the replacement gnomon was fitted, cut out of a dentist’s sign. ’PHYS...’ and ’HOURS’ can be seen on the side. It was fitted too low, the root being at the bottom of the circle instead of the centre.
