BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Fife

The dial is on a moulded baluster supported by a massive square decorated column about 1300 high. An inscription on the north side of the plinth reads ’1645 Repaired 1820’ and ’Moved from Kirkforthar to Balbirnie 1875’. It is now moved to (New) Kirkforthar House but its pair is still at Balbirnie. The dial is a cube with a pointed finial, and cardinal vertical dials faces with new gnomons. The hour lines and numerals are poor.
