BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Cathedral of the Isles, Cumbrae

Circular horizontal dial inscribed in the centre of an octagonal plate 1.5 ft across with eight subsidiary dials around it. Names of 70 other places around the world. Roman numerals on the main dial, Arabic on the others. Inscribed with maker, date, Lat (N5530) EoT, Mottoes, and Initials. Nine metal gnomons removed and kept safe. Subsidiary dials for New York, Cape of Good Hope,Alexandria, Sydney, New Zealand, Malabar, Madagascar, Charleston SC, Initials GFB. Signed R Melvin (believed to be a mis-spelling of Melville) Shows 4am to 8pm in half and quarter hours. Dial removed from plinth and kept inside church for safety.
