BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Lothian Region

The dial, known locally as ’The Bishop’, is set on a stone bracket or corbel on the rear wall of the house. There is a relief carving of a female figure on the west and a male figure on the east faces of the cube, and a man’s face on top, wearing a pointed hat. The cube bears the initials ’D R M H’. Hour lines and Arabic numerals (with ’+’ for noon) are fairly clear.
