BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Tayside Region

This composite dial has three sections - 1. A 10" top cube with hollows on four faces and dials on some corners on inclining surfaces; sloping rectangular block above with many hollows, heavily encrusted with lichen, and a ball finial. 2. A tall slim octagonal pillar. 3. A 12" bottom cube with four vertical dials and horizontals on top, resting on two square steps. Lines and numerals are visible in some places, and some metal gnomons are present. The whole is wrongly set up: the top is 180° out with respect to the cubes. The north and south gnomons on the lower cube are interchanged. Ref: A R Somerville, Proc Soc Antiq Scot, 117, 1987, "The Ancient Sundials of Scotland".
