BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Tayside Region

The dial block rests on its point on a decorated hemi-sphere on an elegant moulded plinth on two small square steps; about 4.5 ft high altogether. It is a hexagonal sandstone block 1.5 ft high with bowl hollows on vertical surfaces and recesses above and below. Some pin gnomons are present. The finial, which does not look original, is a disproportionately large half-sphere, marked as a dial. Ref: A R Somerville, Proc Soc Antiq Scot, 117, 1987, "The Ancient Sundials of Scotland".
