The plinth is a stone table supported by four squat stone legs on a square block base. The dial is a triangular prism with SE and SW dials about 1 ft square, with moulded top and ball. Arabic numerals are clear and there is an inscription on the north side: ’Transit Umbra Permanet Lux’. The dial was originally from Muirton House.
