Dial in Tayside Region

The plinth is a short octagonal pillar with leaf moulding on the collar carrying the dial, splaying out below to an octagonal block mounted on a square step, about 3 ft high in all. The dial is a facetted block about 1 ft square with large octagonal vertical dials N, S, E and W, each with a small square reclining dial above; narrow central rectangular dials NE, NW, SE and SW, each with bowl hollows on inclining and reclining surfaces; and a horizontal on top, giving 25 faces in all. Lines and numerals are distinct and all metal gnomons are present and recently restored (at 1985). The hollows have pin gnomons.
