The sandstone dial block rests on a square slab standing on a cylindrical column about 3 ft high. The block is triangular, about 9" high, with vertical dials with gnomons on SE and SW faces. The north face is hollowed out with a vertical dial and gnomon above, and a small equatorial dial below, the gnomon mssing. Lines and numerals are visible. There are inscriptions ’Robert Anderson’ and ’M. S.’. The dial block is mounted 180° out. Ref: A R Somerville, Proc Soc Antiq Scot, 117, 1987, "The Ancient Sundials of Scotland".
