BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Lothian Region

The dial is standing on the ground with no plinth. It is a triangular block with vertical SE and SW dial faces about 9" square, with numerals visible but gnomons missing, inscribed on both faces ’A. McMy 1743’. The block is painted white and has a cherub’s head with wings on top. Ref: A R Somerville, Proc Soc Antiq Scot, 117, 1987, "The Ancient Sundials of Scotland".
