BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Tayside Region

The dial stands on a tall square column with chamfered edges, as wide as the dial block, about 5 ft high. It is a cube with faces of about 1.25 x 1.5 ft, with dials E, S and W; the north has an inscription surmounted by a sort of pineapple. The house was restored by Lorimer in 1916 and the dial is probably contemporary. Ref: A R Somerville, Proc Soc Antiq Scot, 117, 1987, "The Ancient Sundials of Scotland".
