BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The white painted dial plate is set into stonework at the corner of the building just below the roof, angled to face south. It shows the hours VI-VI with the oddity that the morning hours use the anticlockwise convention so that for example 8am is written as IIIV, and even more unusually, 9am is IIIIV. The motto ’Ut Umbra sic Vita Transit’ (Like a shadow, so life passes) is partly visible.
