BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Nicholas’ Parish Church, Loxley

A painted dial such as this one fades quickly unless it is regularly restored and some refurbishment is certainly required here. The motto below the arch appears to read: ’I die today & live tomorrow’, while In the arch is the date 1845. The dial declines east and shows the hours VI - IIII divided into halves and quarters. The bar gnomon has an S-shaped support. Herringbone masonry in the chancel may date back as far as the 11th century.
