BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Helen’s Church, Thornby

The dial is heavily covered in lichen making reading details almost impossible. Incised lines and numerals on sandstone ground. Single supported strip gnomon. Both gnomon and supporter have decorative protuberances. . Shows 6am to 6pm in half and quarter hours. At base of slab below the dial is a (now) illegible inscription. It includes: "..be he commoner or King..". Ref: Arthur Mee’s Northamptonshire.
