BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Old School, Billesdon

Four separate declining dials set into brickwork on the four walls of the School. Recently (2002) restored. The dials face NE, SW etc. The NE face shows 4am to 8am in hours (using IV); SE shows 4am to 3pm (IV, XII); SW shows 9am to 8pm (XII, IV); and the NW face shows 2pm to 8pm (IV). The dials have lead protective strips above, and iron bar gnomons, each with two support struts. A wooden block dial by Heyricke of the same orientation suggests that this dial might just possibly have also been the work of Heyricke. Ref: W Wells, BSS Bull 14(ii) June 2002 pp 82-84
