St Mary Castle Church, Stafford

Semi-circular time scale. Semi-elliptical chapter ring with aligned numerals V - noon - IIII - V. But the vertical is at XI, and the V’s both fall below the horizon line. Noon indicated by an ’X’ carved in relief. Above is carved ’J 1624 L’. Stonework partly restored. The gnomon would appear to be a replacement.
