BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Botolph’s Church, Burton Hastings

The dial is on the wall above the south porch. Across the top is the motto ’Carpe Diem’ (Seize the Day - from the Odes of Horace) while the date ’1867’ is engraved round the root of the bronze gnomon which has a decorative scrolled support. It shows VI to VI divided into halves. On the south wall of the church is a mass dial.
