BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Guildhall, Knowle

This plain dial is at the upper right hand side of the building, beneath the eaves. It carries the date across the top ’1810’, and in the bottom corners are ’NB’ and ’ON’. Upright Arabic numerals with J0, JJ, J2, J for the mid day hours, and long hour lines with no subdivisions. The gnomon is a plain iron blade with a single ’S’ shaped support. The dial plate rests on a substantial wooden corbel and is retained against the wall by iron dog-nails.
