BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Ram’s Head Inn, Grappenhall

Public dials are most often in churchyards or on the church, less commonly they are on public houses. Look upwards and you will see the dial on the south gable. It is a declining dial, that is, it does not face exactly south, but here it faces somewhat to the east. It was erected in 1893 and is a most excellent dial.
