BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Roundel garden, City of London

In garden. 32 point compass, all points named. Anti-clockwise EoT ring of Watch slower/faster type. Aligned Roman numerals, read from outside, IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, with noon gap. 30, 15, 7.5 and (in Arabic tens) 1 min marks Places named in each half hour with arrows to minutes ring. Inscr to S "T /HT/1830". Maker (Cary) and restorer (Newton) to N in cartouche. Solid sigmoidal gnomon with circular boss like supports. Engraving has been recut in 1878 by Newton & Co, 3 Fleet St, London.
