BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Halesworth

This is a rectangular dial with heavily chamfered upper corners, set into the flintwork of the south wall above the porch. The hour lines are in relief owing to paint resisting wear. The time is shown from 6am to 6pm, with 30 and 15 min intervals. A cross patty indicates noon and there is a black circle at the gnomon root. The sheet metal gnomon is triangular in shape and has a scalloped under-edge.
