BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is in the churchyard near the south porch. The motto reads: ’Wee must’ and the implication is by pun to ’We must dy-all’. It shows 5am to 8pm in half, quarter, eighth and sixteenth hours. Four points of the compass are named. Four point fixing though one corner slightly damaged. Solid gnomon with sigmoidal rear edge and three tenons. Uses XII and IIII. Numerals read from inside the chapter ring. 3mm Noon gap. Rough white cylindrical stone pillar of square section. Restored by J Davis in 2002. Soame was a Royalist during the Civil War. Metal content has been analysed by the Brit Mus. Ref: J Davis, ’A 17th century Churchyard Dial’, BSS Bulletin 15(ii) March 2003 pp 68-70.
