BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary & All Saints’ Parish Church, Pilton

The parish of Pilton has a population of 62 souls, and the church dates from the 15th century and is a Grade II listed building. The dial is above the door. The support to the flat blade gnomon is pierced with shapes which one could convince oneself represent 1634. Some hour lines are visible, and are not consistent with the gnomon, radiating as they do from a point half way up the gnomon base. The gnomon gives no sign of having been relocated and it is possible that the incised hour lines are a later attempt at reconstruction.
