BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Lothian Region

Mounted on elaborate contemporary fountain. Plinth carved with winged figures. All metal gnomons missing. The dial is a facetted block with north-sloping top with equatorial star; south-facing polar hemi-cylinder projecting down from cusps of star; other surfaces flat or with various-shaped hollows including large bowl (south), hearts (east and west), and hemispheres (east and west); dials on all available surfaces. Acording to tradition the whole lot was made in Italy, but the dial is undoubtedly Scottish and was probably originally separate. It is possible it has been mounted on the fountain at a later date as it does not fit neatly in position with respect to water jets.
