BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial was originally at Calder House, Mid Calder, and was presented to the National Trust for Scotland in 1971. It was restored in 1984-5 by George Higgs and set up on a square red sandstone pillar in the walled garden at Culzean. It is a facetted block about 3 feet high with a north-sloping top occupied entirely by an equatorial star. There is a broad south-facing stepped polar hemi-cylinder projecting down from the top cusps of the star. Most other surfaces are flat, with two hollows, east and west only. The lower section forms an octagonal collar with vertical and inclining dials. The whole rests on a polyhedral section and there are dials on all available surfaces (51 in all). All the copper gnomons are present.
