BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Strathclyde Region

This dial was originally at Hamilton Palace. It is in the form of a faceted block with a north sloping top with an equatorial star, and a south facing hemi-cylinder. Other surfaces are flat or various-shaped hollows, including a bowl to the south, hearts, and triangles. There are dials on all available surfaces. Note - as at August 2014, the dial is dismounted and in two pieces, having been taken down as it was loose and unsafe. Ref: A R Somerville, Proc Soc Antiq Scot, 117, 1987, "The Ancient Sundials of Scotland", p19 (B6).
