BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Strathclyde Region

This obelisk dial stands on a square block base with suns on three sides. It is 8-10 ft high overall. The shaft has five square panels on each side, with hollows and vertical dials. The boss is standard with hollows and verticals on the octagonal band, the corners cut out, reclining and inclining dials above and below. The finial has seven panels on each side. The metal gnomons have been restored, not always well. Numbers are still readable in some places. Ref: A R Somerville, Proc Soc Antiq Scot, 117, 1987, "The Ancient Sundials of Scotland", p14 (B1).
