BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Tayside Region

The dial is mounted on an old clay chimney pot some 5 ft high, standing on a square block. It consistes of a boss only, of the pointed type, with upper and lower facets meeting at a point on the NE NW SE SW corners (no central band), showing reclining and inclining dials. There are large cup hollows on the corners with hour lines still visible. Ref: A R Somerville, Proc Soc Antiq Scot, 117, 1987, "The Ancient Sundials of Scotland", p8 (A9).
