BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Central Region

When seen in 1982 the dial was not facing true south, but the owners hoped to move it to a courtyard when it was ready. It stands some 2200 high on a small round and a larger square step. The shaft has four square panels on each side, all with hollows as dials. The boss has no central band, the upper and lower faces meeting in a wedge shape with reclining and inclining dials, no sinkings, the corners cut out. The finial has seven panels on each side. The top is broken and there are no gnomons. Ref: A R Somerville, Proc Soc Antiq Scot, 117, 1987, "The Ancient Sundials of Scotland", p6 (A7).
