Dial in Central Region

The dial is about 1220 high overall, and stands on one square step. The north face of the shaft bears initials ’GM / MB’ and the date 1702. The horizontal must have been added later, after the destruction of the finial. The shaft has four square panels on each side with elaborate sinkings and dials in the stone. The boss has an octagonal band with sinkings, theupper sloping half cut off. The later horizontal sits diagonally with respect to the shaft but correctly oriented (the north point is over the SE corner of the shaft which must be wrong.
