BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

Competition winner. Made by Sidney Brown and designed by Barrow-in-Furness shipyard apprentices as a memorial to Professor Miles. Roman numerals VI - XII - IIII - VI, with quarter hour divisions. Either side of the noon line are AM and PM, the central M and P being shaded down leaving the outer A M prominent - possibly the Professor’s initials?
