BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Boroughgate, Appleby-in-Westmorland

Dial is atop High Post, outside Appleby Castle. Motto reads: "Retain your loyalty. Preserve your rights". This is in white on the column base. Three face dial similar to dial at the bottom of the main street but with different gnomons. Weathervane dates from 1836. Like the lower dial (SRN1138), is thought to have been erected to commemorate the Restoration.
