BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

This dial, declining east on the porch, is well shaded by trees and must have one of the thickest gnomons in the county. (There is a gap on the dial plate to compensate for this.) This is probably because it is, like the rest of the dial, made of slate and a thinner one would be too fragile. An oddity here is that the hours V - IV are Roman except for noon which appears as 12. In the upper section of the dial is ’1836 / JOSEPH FAYRER M. A. Vicar. / CHURCH WARDENS. / JOHN BANT. Lower Suffenton. / GILES HAWKEN. Danon Chapel. / SIDESMEN: / JOHN BUNDLE. Trevilly. / JOHN MARTYN. Helland.’ The inclusion of so many of the parish staff is unusual: if they had had more room one suspects the flower rota would be in there as well.
