BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Helena’s Church, Helland

The eaves of the south aisle overhang this slate dial to such an extent that its top is in shadow except when the sun is low. At the top of the dial a hand points to the inscription "An° Domini 1778". The sun-face surrounding the gnomon root has rays which don’t connect with any of the hour lines but it is still a good dial. It was without a gnomon when Mrs Crowley drew it in 1962 and nobody has yet been kind enough to give it a new one.
