BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cornwall

This dial in the churchyard was presented to the parish in October 1902 by Silvanus Trevail, said to have been the most famous Cornish architect of the 19th century. He died the following year. It is a fine dial made by Stanley of London and the usual hours of IV to VIII are divided down to five minute intervals. There is an 8-point compass rose in the centre outside which is the inscription telling us of the donor. It is mounted on an octagonal granite pillar, 1320 high, with the date 1697 carved in the four top panels.
