BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary Magdalene Church, Stocklinch

The dial is perched on the apex of the squat porch. It is square, significantly canted to face south, and with ’shoulders’ upon which rests a ball finial. Mottoes read: ’Watch and Pray’ across the top and below,’Redeeme the Times’ (sic - the three final Es all conjoined to the preceding letter, and the S of ’Times’ fitted in above the line). The hour numerals - damaged on the left hand side - are Arabic, with the 8 tilted to fit in the narrow chapter ring. Hour lines run to a small central semicircle, and are separated by half-hour pocks.
