BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Surrey

Motto reads: "Tyme Flyes". Compass rose centred on gnomon root. Two phoenixes (or similar) face each other across the gnomon line. Shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15 and 7.5 min marks. Half hours marked by dot on line. Uses XII and IIII. Noon gap. Numerals read from outside the dial. Knuckleduster gnomon piercing. Set on square section tapering pedestal with, in relief : "Light and Shadow by turns but always Love". Also one face with poetic memorial. Further inscription on plinth and date of 1937. Dial is probably a later 20thC replacement.
