BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Devon
In the churchyard is a brass horizontal dial which has lost its gnomon. It is a memorial dial and carries the inscription ’In Memory of Geo.and Dora Carter d. 1936 & 1968.’ It also carries the spurious date of 1676. It has a motto which reads: "Ye shade Teecheth". It shows IV - XII - IV - VIII with split noon and 30, 15 and 7.5 min marks. Hour lines continue through the numerals. Unusual compass rose with the eight points named within parallel bands pointing to the various directions. Very similar to SRN 3421. Thin stone baluster pedestal with square capital and plinth. The dial is 305mm in diameter and is mounted on a thin stone baluster pedestal with square capital and plinth.
