BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

The dial may be in kitchen garden; access is difficult. Circular plate on square plinth head. Numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from inside. Hour lines to double circle around the gnomon root. 30 and 5 minute divisions. Pierced gnomon with scroll design and long side supports. Inscription at S, illegible in photograph.
