BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

The dial is set on an octagonal sandstone pedestal formed from square sections with broad bevels, 1300h. It is in the churchyard, on the south side, to the right of the path. It shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15, 10 and 5 mins. Unusual fine divisions of about 1 min separation follow the hours and half hours. Elaborate lozenge ended arrows mark the half hours.
