BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Parish Church, Carlisle

Motto reads: "Ah what is human life, How like the dial’s tardy moving shade, Day after day slides from us unperceiv’d, Yet soon man’s hour is up and we are gone", a quote from Busiris v i by Edward Young 1719. The dial was removed from the wall in 2004 and placed in store. See replacement dial SRN 6661.
